[In-person] Yin-Yang Yoga and Sri Lankan Brunch – Poble Nou, Barcelona

Sunday Sept 27, 8am-11am. Book here.

Join us on Sunday 26th July to move your body and wake up energetic pathways with a 1-hour Yin-Yang Yoga flow. We’ll then satisfy our souls (and our tastebuds) with a delicious home-made Sri Lankan brunch including all the best flavours of the region; coconut pancakes, dhal and rotis, and a fresh organic juice. We’ll then wrap up the morning with a vision board session before we wave goodbye and send you off smiling into the Barcelona sunshine.

The yoga class is open to all levels and will include a mixture of slow flow vinyasa (suitable for beginners but with variations for more seasoned practitioners), and yin yoga.

All of the Sri Lankan food is vegetarian and can be made vegan / dairy-free.

We’ll provide all of the materials for the vision board workshop so all you need to bring is a yoga mat and a smile and come wearing your movement outfit.

Places are very limited as we want to make this an intimate event where you can truly enjoy the experience and get to know your fellow yogis over breakfast.

[Virtual] Full Moon Dance & Balance with Holly & Lauren

Monday 3rd August, 6:30pm BST / 7:30pm CEST

How quickly time flies, this will be the 4th instalment of our monthly Full Moon Gatherings and this month I’m teaming up with none other than my favourite movement maker, Holly Barber!

On August 3rd, the moon will be at it’s peak in the airy sign of Aquarius. This moon is a rebellious freedom-seeking moon that helps connect you to your greatest vision and purpose. So, what better way to celebrate all of that wild abandon than with an uplifting dance-athon set to some moon-inspired beats?

Holly brings a gorgeous energy to everything she does and uplifts me on a weekly basis with her unique, open-to-all style of movement. This is no choreographed paint-by-numbers routine, but rather an opportunity to EXPRESS YOURSELF, move in whatever way your body is calling you to, and connect to your own radiant nature.

We’ll then drop down to the ground and luxuriate in the long-held juicy Yin poses we all know and love whilst we contemplate what this moon means for us.

Virtual: Yin-Yang Yoga & Sound Healing

Sunday 5th July, 6:30pm BST / 7:30pm CEST, £5.98 per household. Book your spot here.

Join us for the third instalment of our monthly Full Moon Yogi gathering.

This July 5, the moon will be at it’s peak in the sign of the earthy, hard-working goat ~ Capricorn, bringing our focus to all things business and career-minded.

I will be leading us through a 45-minute Yin-Yang practice where we honour the moon with some gentle moon salutations before nesting down on the mat to honour ourselves; we see what we’re holding onto, where we need to release and where we need to invite space in. (The class is open to all levels including complete beginners).

I’ll guide you into a cozy savasana and then the lovely Uschi will take over with her unique sound healing, crystal-singing bowls.

If you’ve never tried sound healing before, here’s an idea of what you can expect;

“Experience deep relaxation leading to a heightened state of consciousness as soothing tones from the chakra-tuned singing bowls resonate with and gently rebalance the bodies energy centres to promote physical, emotional and spiritual well-being”

Why a Full Moon gathering?

Traditionally, women would gather together around the time of the New Moon to support each other during their ‘Luna time’. So I wanted to create something similar, albeit utilising the energy of the Full Moon instead. The New Moon is a time for setting intentions – for me, this is a very personal time as I turn inwards, slow down, rest, and reflect on what I want to manifest during the next lunar cycle.

When the Full Moon comes around however, we all seem to feel a little ‘LOCO’ experiencing sleepless nights, hectic minds and excess energy. It’s the time when we see whether our intentions have manifested and if not, we learn to release them. What better time to have the support of a tribe to collectively move through this moment?

As always with my classes, they are open to everyone – male, female, new to the practice or a long-time yogi!

Saturday 30th March
2-4:30pm @ The Yoga Edge Streatham
£30 Book here

Spring is a time of renewal. The nights are lighter and days brighter, we enthusiastically awaken from our winter slumber and embrace the faster pace of life that comes with the longer days. Too often however, we shift from our yin state of mild hibernation straight into an overly yang pace of life.

In this workshop we’ll look at our tendencies in the West to work in extremes; either burning the midnight oil, or burning out completely, and instead focus on welcoming in a middle ground. We’ll use journaling to see where we might be holding onto stagnation in the mind and then shift our focus to manifest what we want to draw in. Lauren will guide you through a gentle flow sequence to disperse of any stagnant energy in the body and then you’ll settle into a Yin spring cleanse that will set you up nicely for the season.

“The three months of spring are the time of renewal: the old and stale dissipates, heaven and earth come to life, and everything blossoms. Rest at night and get up early, stride freely through the courtyard, let your hair down and indulge in the leisurely feeling of a morning stroll; this is how you should raise your spirits in spring. Foster all life and do not kill, be generous and agreeable, give freely and do not punish. This is the way of honoring the qi of spring and nourishing life during this season. Going against these characteristics of the seasonal flow will have harmful affects on the liver” – Gao Lian

Price £30. Membership discounts apply.
